Forum Agenda  6th June 2012

9:00  Registration and coffee

9:30  To be Sustainable - Learning by Doing
          Mr. Victor Schoone, ROCA
Technological innovation in product development and factory sites can do a lot: to be a true leader and speak out about what's right is
even better! ROCA is a true leader and showing its commitment to the environment through the WE ARE WATER Foundation of which
ROCA is the founding member. The WE ARE WATER Foundation is aiming to create awareness and debate about the need for a new
culture of water, and to take action in the most deprived areas in the world by setting up new infrastructure (water pumps, new irrigation
systems, sanitation, etc.), education and improving health and research.

10:00    Leading by Example
Mr. Ibrahim Al Zubi, Majid Al Futtaim Properties
This will include a discussion on the following areas:
             1.  CSR History at MAF
             2.  MAF CSR Policy and Focus Areas
             3.  CSR Targets
             4.  The way forward

10:30   Challenges and Rewards of Developing and Implementing CR in a Dynamic Organisation.
Ms. Sandra Anani, Airlines and Aviation
The presentation will discuss the theory of stakeholder engagement, the process of developing a meaningful engagement framework and
the rewards and challenges that are a result of the practical implementation. Taking Corporate Responsibility from theory to reality and
achieving real results that serve the organization and the community.

11:00   Can Sustainability be Profitable: Case Studies that say 'yes'
            Mr. Paul Beirman-Lytle, Pangaeon

From the origin of the term, Sustainable Development, in 1987 at the UN conference in Stockholm, Sweden, there are few exemplary examples of

Sustainability that demonstrate profitability. Change of behavior, change in technology, change in the status quo always takes time. Sustainability has
always maintained that it is a lifestyle shift that requires long-term commitment and long-term payback. This is obviously at odds with short-term
economic strategies of doing business. It is no wonder then that examples that prove Sustainability is profitable are rare. Experimentation and
introduction of new technologies, new communities, new regulations, and new lifestyles are usually expensive at the beginning, mostly due to little
supply and little demand. However, we have reached the tipping point now and Sustainability Solutions are turning profits to investors and stakeholders.
This presentation will cite several surveys, illustrate case studies, and show that if one builds a sustainability business case into the project, the
company, the industry, and the products, profits have a significant chance of success.

11:00 - 11:15   Coffee Break

11:15  Sustainable Landscape Irrigation – 100% Wastewater Reuse for Communities and others
            Mr. Jawad Habib, Enshaa
The presentation demonstrates how easy & practical it is for individuals (villa’s, offices, warehouses) to do waste water treatment on-site.  Apart from
savings in water and related bills, the benefits are also passed on to the community & municipality and goes a long way in building sustainability. The
presentation also highlights how high the water consumption per capita is here in the UAE, which is why governments are also encouraging such
initiatives by individuals.  Examples will be shown how Enshaa proved that by going for on-site treatment customers the clients can achieve direct
savings and at the same time are able to inculcate a culture of going Green.
